The month of Ramadan is the month

in which the Koran was sent down,

a guidance for the people,

and clear verses of guidance and

criterion.

[Quran: Chapter 2, 183]

It is appropriate that every Muslim should receive the blessed month of Ramadan with repentance, sincerity, resoluteness and earnestness. He/she should make the intention to perform extra acts of devotion and worship therein, including the Night Prayer (qiyam), recitation of Qur'an, and abundant charity to the poor and needy.

The month of Ramadan has excellences over the other months, as is testified to by the Qur'an and Sunnah, and out of these we will bring to attention the following virtues:

1. It is the month of the Qur'an, with regards to revelation and study. ("The month of Ramadan is that in which was revealed the Qur'an." [Qur'an, 2:185]). On the authority of Ibn `Abbas: Angel Gabriel used to meet the Prophet every night in Ramadan and used to study Qur'an with him.

2. It is the month of seclusion. Ibn `Umar said, "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to seclude himself for the last ten days of the month of Ramadan."

3. It is the month of generosity. Ibn `Abbas said, "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to be at his most generous in Ramadan."

4. It is the month of standing (in voluntary night prayer). On the authority of Abu Hurayrah: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, "Whoever stands (in voluntary night prayer) during Ramadan, with faith and in expectancy of reward, his previous sins are forgiven him."

5. It is the month of the compulsory fast, because of Allah's saying, "So, whoever among you witnesses the month should fast." [Qur'an, 2:185] A terrible error prevalent among people is to talk about Ramadan just as they talk about the obligation of fasting, as if Ramadan and fasting are synonymous, each carrying the meaning of the other and not anything more nor less. Yet, fasting is one of many acts of worship in Ramadan.

i opt a white-blue themed cake for my reception last year as my theme color was gold and navy blue ... the cake was a complimentary from the hall and at first i was a bit skeptical with what it might came out to be ... sbb contoh tak tunjuk, cake tak pernah rasa, design tak pernah discuss ... yg dia tahu, i want my cake to be in BLUE ! but Alhamdulillah they did a great job .. thirtier white fondant cake with heavy blue flowers on top was gorgeous ! bunga dia pun still ada lagi dlm fridge at me mum's home ... cantik ! i tot of having a gold + blue cake but, i know its difficult for them to do lah .... white will do ~ (^_^)

i know its been a year im married and living in this challenging yet wonderfull life with my husband ... but the memory of our wedding still lingers in our minds and yeah, we kept saying few things we should've done and didnt do during both of our receptions ... the do's and dont's ... here are some photos of hantaran taken during my sis-in-law's engagement day last month .... my mom-in-law got 'em arranged by her friends in Bangi, which are simple and sweet, with light-chocolate/peach crystal flowers on top ... love 'em ! owh the crystal flowers and the basket my MIL "tempah" somewhere in Semua House ... and the knitted kain pelapik hantaran were bought in Vietnam during her holiday visit there ... enjoy !

MAJLIS KESYUKURAN MENYAMBUT MENANTU YB DATO' SERI DR ABDULLAH BIN MAT ZIN, AHLI PARLIMEN BESUT.

KOTA PUTERA 26 Mei 2010 Yang Berhormat Ahli Parlimen Besut merangkap penasihat agama kepada YAB Perdana Menteri Malaysia, Dato' Seri Dr Abdullah bin Mat Zin dan Tok Puan Seri Hajah Wan Naimah binti Haji Wan Latif telah mengadakan Majlis Kesyukuran Menyambut Menantu dikediaman rasmi mereka. N0 2726 Lorong Hidayat Kg Alor Lintang Dun Kota Putera pada hari Sabtu 22 Mei 2010. Putera sulong Dato' Seri dan Tok Puan Seri, Haji M. Fakhri bin Dato' Dr Haji Abdullah telah memilih Nurshahida binti Omran sebagai pasangan hidupnya.

Seramai 3,000 tetamu telah memeriahkan majlis tersebut. Turut hadir ke majlis itu Yb Datuk Seri Haji Idris (Adun Jerteh) dan isteri,Yb Haji Pehimi bin Yusof (Adun Kota Putera) dan isteri, Yb Haji Nawi bin Mohd(Adun Hulu Besut) dan isteri dan Yb Dr Rahman bin Mokhtar(Adun Kuala Besut) dan isteri.

Heartiest Congratulations to my dearest sis-in-law for her E-day last Saturday ... !

Alhamdulillah everything went very well and i must say i am so happy to see her all cheer-up and smilling all day ... (^_^)

the theme for the day was orange-peach ...

i was responsible for her outfit, her make-up, her dias and some of her hantaran (sirih with fruits, chocolates & cake) ...

her orang-peach kurung modern was tailored made by Kak Dilla from Salikin Sidek ... Alhamdulillah she love it and my mom-in-law pun suka ... fits her very well too ! the hijab, we bought it somewhere in Bangi with a very affordable price ... a twist tudung with flower printed and diamonte ... and the veil, i rent it at the wedding boutique somewhere in Bangi too .. the boutique i used to rent my accessories for my wedding ... cheap cheap one ! (^_^)

make-up was done by me and my cousin, A-da ... thanks deary cuzzy for helping us out ! it was just a simple make-up-do since my sis-in-law wants it to be light and natural ... so, we just added some mascara, eye liner, light color eye shadow, blusher .... and a very light foundation ... no tepung gomak please !!!! O_o

her dias (pelamin) was from MyBride, Kelantan ... since the E-day was held in Besut, i rented the dias all the way from Kota Bharu ... so hard to find a good bridal boutique with modern dias around T'ganu & Kelantan ... but, thank God i found MyBride ! Thanks Kak Zalita (013-9685552) for the sweet dias ....

last month we (me & hubs) were in Brisbane attending friend's (whom was my Maid of Honor last year) wedding ... (yeah, she came all the way from Brisbane for my wedding and now its my turn to do her favor ...heeee !) it was a very simple yet beautiful wedding and i must say i was amazed at how much effort the bride had put for her dream wedding .. everything was planned and organized by the bride ... cool huh ! and she is soo creative when it comes to decorating things ...

and for her wedding's first blog post, i chose to share with you guys the favors we got for her reception .... it was SELF DECORATED and so cute ! each of the guests got a plastic wine-glass stuffed with chocolates and a glass bottle of bath sea salt with their name on it ! kewl aint it ?? the bride decorated the plastic wine glass with a dolly paper, laces + flower (for ladies) and shirt-cutted paper + black ribbon (for men) ... comel kan ?? and for the bath sea-salt, she just make it simple with dried flowers tie around the bottle neck ... (^_^)

so yeah laydies, this is a very good & sweet example of a DIY wedding favors for your wedding .... what say you ??

am so happy to know that my sister in law is getting engaged another three weeks and ill be the person who'll be responsible for her engagement dias, make-up and her engagement attire ... so excited !!!! and the theme color we picked was peach color .. sweet right ?? (",) so yeah, the hastle begins when i was searching for a pelamin-deco for the E-day that will be held in BESUT !!! yeah, in BESUT !! i was like, "mana nk cari boutique yg buat pelamin yg modern and tak kampung in BESUT !!?? *pitam* :P at first, i tot of hiring my cousin's wife's brother as he owned a bridal boutique ... but nope since he charged us transportation fees quit expensive ....

so i started to search on the web and i found MyBride boutique in Kota Bharu !!! yeayyyyy !!! and i must say their dias arent tad bad ... i love the one above and yeah, i chose to have that similar dias for my sister-in-law's engagement ... sweet kan ?? but without the box arch as it is too big for an engagement ... MIL wants it to be simple and sweet ... so yes it is ! love it ! it matches her modern baju kurung pretty well ! owh, we sent her laces to Salikin Sidek ... where else !! :)

make-up will be done by yours truly with the help of few cousins .... hiks !!! *jangan jd tepung gomak sudah !* :P

this "planning" table were sent to me by email from a friend yesterday. its a schedule to predict your baby's gender, using your age and in what month your baby concieved (terkosepsi). i dunno how the calculation were done but hey, seems like most of the predictions works ! plus, ive checked with pregnant friends and they were according to this thang ! cool innit ??!!

wedding corsage is kindda famous in an "I DO" weddings and i dun think its a trend in most of our Malaysian weddings. i like/LOVE wedding corsages. its so pweddy ! its just that i dun have much moolahs to spend on 'em during my wedding .... *sheessshh!*

corsages can be wrap around on your wrist or pin on your left chest. it can be made out of fresh flowers or fake flowers. both are acceptable, according to your budget for sure. since i heart orchids so much, here're examples of orchid's corsages that might give u an idea for your wedding :)

my very own solemnization pillow during my nikah day 7 months back ... it was totally my design and they turned out perfectly just as ive always wanted ... all the rental ones was way not up to my standard ... they were all lembik, nipis, tak cantik, kecik and sangat old fashion ... even the ones sells in Masjid India & jln TAR oso the same ... so ive decided to custom made my own nikah cushion ... a shop doing mum's sofas were responsible to get it done for me and for the finishing, ive done it myself ... (^_^)

this is for my cushion ... a 40x30 with two long pillow both sides ...

and this is for his cushion, a 30x30 cushion .... just nice for him to be seated comfortably while waiting to be wed ... :)

this pair was gorgeous despite the size was a lil' bigger than my size, i still walked gracefully in it (thanks for the shoe paddings!) ... thank God ive found 'em for my wedding as it took me months just to find the perfect pair for my wedding .. yeah, at first i want a white pair but after few changes, we decided to have black wedding shoes to match our gold-navy wedding dress ... a real swarovski studded in round with black satin fan-pleat in four inch heels ... fuhhhh ~ so, viola !

the decorations for nikah day at my house was just a simple one ... didnt wanna spent extra just for the nikah day as the day after at the hall, it was oredy grand ... so, for nikah dias, i opt a simple but sweet pelamin .. errrr... not to say its a pelamin lah actually ... it was just a corner for a family photos ... :) the stairs were decorated by yours truly (sampai skang tak cabut ag kain & bunga tuh .. hiks !) errrmmm ... almost everything were decorated by me myself lah senang cerita ... :P it was kindda self satisfaction actually and to ease the pressure ive had during the preparations ... no kidding ! it helps ~ the 10 meter off-white plain kain were bought four years ago for my sis's wedding and the flowers were bought from KK Decor ... really really cheap i tell you ! *happy*

about the dias, remember how i wanted my nikah dias as simple as THIS ?? yerp, a traditional wooden pelamin ... tot of renting a stage for the pelamin but when to think of it, pelamin nikah ni pakai sekejap je ... why must i spend another rm500 just for that kan ?? the backdrop of wooden Ayatul Kursi were my MIL's. she let me borrowed the backdrop and now, the backdrop is mine for keep ... hiks !! yerp, she gave it to me je ... the flowers ontop were bought at one kedai bunga murah and lucky me the pelamin looks sweeter with the flower ... :) as for the twin silver thingey on the left and right of the pelamin, i rent it from Aziriah ... Thanks Azi ... cantik sangat ! menaikkan seri pelamin ... nice ~ so yeah, eventho it was just a simple pelamin for my nikah, i love it ! enjoi the pixies ~

my make-up session for nikah started at 7.30am ... it was early in da morning since we will be having our solemnization at 9.30am at Masjid Al-Hasanah... the make-up were done by my ex-schoolmate, Puan Fadzrina Ifizi from MakeUp Addiction ... i wanted a light and simple makeup for the nikah ... xmo heavy heavy ala patung cendana sangat sebab im surely gonna cry during the solemnization ceremony ... splotchy make-up for the after nikah photo session is not what i had in mind lah ~... :P so yeah, Fizi really know how to work her magic ! i love her make-up do ... just the way i like it ... nampak muka simple je ... i love best is the way she do my eyes ... the smokey sexxay eyes ... really nice ~ (",)

(mcm hutan pun ada gak) ehehheh ... ive always think that blue and silver really blend well .. it gives the classy look for the hantaran ... tak over ...

the hantaran process started with an estimation and budget on how many flowers should i use for all eleven hantaran ... our hantaran was sebelas berbalas sebelas ... why ?? hurmmm ... at first it should be sebelas berbalas sembilan, but his mom tot nine was too sikit .. so, she added up two more extra hantaran ... tapi xpayah naikkan jumlah hantaran myside ... yeay ! ehehheh ... after doing the estimation referring to some hantaran photos i gathered from websites, i continued with ordering the flowers ... i ordered all flower for hantaran and flower bouquet from a chinese lady at Pasar Kajang ... boleh la murah la jugak ... (then ive been told that area petaling street ada jual bunga ag murah, ag besar and ag cantik from china ... kecewa!!!) ... for fresh flowers, u need to order 'em at least two weeks before coz they need to make an order from their supplier (from cameron i think) ...

ok, come to the day i collected all the flowers from that chinese lady, i was all frustrated ... rasa mcm nak marah je ... why?

1. the blue flowers that ive got was so small and the color is "tompok-tompok" ...before i ordered the flower she said flowers from her are all in big size and the color mesti cantik ... dem !

2. the calla lily ive ordered for my nikah bouquet was thin, tak kembang and sooooooo lembik ! nak marah je rasa ... dh la mahal ! so i just have to cancel using the calla lily for my nikah bouquet ... yes, canceled ! *frust*

3. the baby-breaths was a bit dry but it was still okey .. boleh guna lagi la .... tapi still, kita bayar kan ??? so, bg la yg elok ... kan ? :(

okey, maybe it was my fault that i didnt checked every stalk of flowers she gave me, but, how can i check if banyak and susah nk bukak kat situ ... plus, i was in a hurry summore .... :(

then after a while, i took a deep breath and started to do my own hantaran ... with TEARS .... yes, with TEARS !! nk cari bunga kat tempat lain mana sempat ... sedih kan ?? luckily ive already bought six silver flowers with diamond (from Tenan Shop, Semua House) for my hantaran just to add up the blink-blink .. cover la jugak cacat cela bunga tuh ... fuhhhhh ~ it took me few hours to complete my gubahan hantaran ... yeah, imagine i was doing it with tears & definitely pintu bilik harus ditutup kemas (elak org bukak pintu nampak pengantin duk nangis.. hiks !) ... sadis kan ?? [pengantin berair mata yo !] ...

Alhamdulillah [even not with 100% full satisfaction], ive done menggubah my own hantaran... and luckily mum said it was quite okeyh despite the bunga yg cinonet and tompok2x tuh ... :(

i know its been too long ive been all quiet ... so many things i wanna share during the wedding prep, the nikah and the two receptions but there arent enough time for me to do so ... *sigh* being a wife is not as easy and is not that simple ... it is wayyyy complicated [no no no .. am not complaining here .. ] ... BUT i love each and every single moment of it .... *bless*

most brides (malays and indians especially), loves to draw henna / mehndi on their hands, showing that they're getting marry ... and yeah, this is also (from what ive heard) to show how happy they are on the coming event of their lifetime ... owh owh owh ... some people oso said that the shades/colors of mehndi drawn onto the bride's hand actually gives different meaning, about the bride herself ...hurmmm... entah ... wallahuA'lam ...

so yeah, two days before my solemnization, i went to Jalan Masjid India [with Mr Hubby] for my mehndi/henna drawing session ... at first, i tot of going for henna drawing with Mrs Begum, an indian lady sitting at the corner of the shop lots along Jalan Masjid India ... since she wasnt there when i arrived, i chose kak Ida (an indonesian lady sitting just 300m away from where Mrs Begum should be sitting, with her lil' daughter) to draw my wedding henna .... i had doubt at first, but when i saw her expertly do the henna drawing, i began to realize that she wasnt tad bad at all ... seriously ! laju giler dia lukis ... and yeah, comot-less !!! wow .... Kak Ida adviced me on the designs and she said, with tangan yg gedabak besar ni, the deisgns should be big too .... with big flowers, big leaves, big motives etc ... if i choose smaller flowers designs, my hands will look ever bigger .... ngeh !!! turned out she was right ... owh, she used a Pakistani Henna and i must say it smells really nice and cantik too ~ i mean the color .... hiks!

Wedding speech.. (shida+fakhri)

Assalamualaikum dan salam sejahtera utk para hadirin sekalian…
Ini adalah satu penghargaan bagi sy,diberi peluang untuk berucap sebagai wakil family shida..seperti yang telah diperkenalkan oleh pasangn pengacara majlis sy tdi,sy antara sepupu yang rapat dengan shida..sebenanrnya sedih gak nk lepaskan one of our happening kazen ni ke tgn fakhri..sbb kami tkut dh takde geng nk lepak and hu ha huha dh..hehhe tapi,bila ktorg diperkenalkan dengan fakhri(at that time was her bf) sy rase fakhri boleh ngam ngan kazen2 lain..he such a fun companion..jdi dengan rela hati kami approve pilihan shida..chewaahh..first time kami (me,my sister n my brother) meet him at klia,time n antar my bro blik birmigham,time tu I dh dpat rase yg fakhri is the who can take care of shida,n gives her all the happiness in the world..mane tak nye,spnjang hari shida dok sengeh senyum mcm kerang busuk..tu bru sehari,klo sepanjang hayat,byangkan sebusuk mane shida bleh jdi..dh tak kenal mane kerang mane shida..hehhe just kidding..so,harapan sy,mewakili family sy dan kazen2 yg lain,smoga fakhri dpat bhagiakan shida,n shida dpat jaga fakhri sebaik mungkin..u both such a sweet couple..we were very happy for both of u..smoga semakin hari semakin syg ye??love u both very much…before I end my speech,I wud like to give u a marriage advice..(wpon I blom kawen I pandai bgi advice tau..hehhe takdelaa just kidding) this is a marriage advice poem written by jane wells…

Monday really made my day for this week ... an appointment with lovely Tinur from RumahKebaya was really really nice ... our final fittings was a success ... eheheh ... kami berjaya mengekalkan berat badan !!! yeay ... baju still muat !!! ahahahah ... owh, but my dress need to alter a bit smaller ... say, 2 inch kot ... yeay !! :P this is our full dress fitting sessions/try outs, together with veil, tiara, necklace, hijab ... owh, also my shoe ~ :) nice nice nice ... just what ive dream of for my wedding ... and Mr F oso the same ... full dress fitting together with his tengkolok, samping, bekung, keris, necklace .... wahhhh !! take my breath away ~ owh, atas tuh neak preview of my reception dress ... yerp, its in gold and blue ... i love it !

only one day left for me before i become a WIFE and thank God preparations has been good since day one ... there're few hiccups along the way but Alhamdullilah, everything were sorted out just fine ... and as for last night, ive arranged my hantaran and what a relief mom & dad were satisfied with what ive did ... *pat myself* ... dad were all smiling and mom said its really nice ... sweet and simple ... and for that i just cant wait to add-up fresh flowers to my hantaran tomorrow ... yerp, tomorrow morning ill be out early to get my roses, lillies, baby breaths that ive ordered ... fuh ... it was such a great-satisfying feeling when u do everything yourself and people were all amazed with what u did ... kan ?? especially when ure organizing ur wedding urself ... *smile*

i love the colour of this hantaran and InsyaAllah, ill make 'em as my reference for my fresh flowers arrangements ... yerp, my side hantaran will be in blue+silver, whilst his side will be in purple+silver ...

i love pink ... a pink themed color wedding is one sweet wedding and for the groom wearing pink, they will look even more macho-er with a lil' soft feminine touch ... am i right ? no ? pics below are so very nice that i just have to post it up in my wedding blog ... yeah, for the bride-to-be to have an idea on what they want for their wedding theme color ... and for this picture, id say u will never go wrong when it comes to pink for ur wedding ~

was a bit shocked and down today when my "to-be-bridesmaid" told me that she just have to cancel to be my bridesmaid this May .... the reason ? hurmmmm ... lotsa reasons ... i dun mind but i was a bit frustrated that she told me a lil' last minute and its kindda hard for me to find replacement at this last minute as people need to find dress or tempah baju to be a bridesmaid ... within this 10 days, manader tailor boleh siapkan baju that fast ! *sigh* ~ sedeyh ...

i was having a headache thinking about it, until few names popped out of my mind ... then i discussed with Mr F about it and he said it would be great if this one particular person be my bridesmaid ... and for his bestman, he suggested my friend but turned out to be negative , so he suggested his cousin for his bestman ... ok, bestman , settled ... then he called this one particular person's mum, asking about it ... viola ! apparently it turned out she's really really delighted to be my bridesmaid ... *smile* Alhamdulillah .... all my worries ends ! so yeah, tak payah fikir dah .... InsyaAllah ill be helping 'em to find her dress/kebaya when they're in Malaysia next week .... :)
